About Marriage Can Be Murder
Marriage Can Be Murder is not dinner theater. The distinction matters. In a standard dinner theater show, you eat at a table while something happens on a stage in front of you. Here, the cast performs throughout the entire Masquerade Village venue at the Rio — at your table, across the room, at the next table over, during the two 8-minute breaks when you're actively gathering clues. The show is woven through the room, not contained to a stage. The dinner isn't the break between acts. The dinner is part of the show.
The format runs two hours with two 8-minute breaks built in for mingling and clue-gathering — those breaks are part of the experience, not intermissions. A four-course dinner is included at every seating tier. The cast plays a married couple caught up in a murder, the audience plays investigator, and by the end of the evening someone at your table has probably developed a theory. It's the kind of show that works for date nights, group outings, and anniversaries equally well — and notably, for families with kids ages 8 and up.
