About Penn & Teller
Penn Jillette and Teller have been performing together since 1975. The partnership produced a smash Broadway run, a decade-spanning television career, multiple Emmys, and a Las Vegas residency at the Rio that is now in its 21st year — one of the longest-running shows in Las Vegas history. The Penn & Teller Theater at the Rio isn't a showroom they were booked into. It was built for them and named after them. That's a different category of institution from what else is on the Strip.
The format is Penn & Teller doing magic — deconstructed, satirized, and occasionally explained while still being inexplicable. Penn handles all the talking, with the sarcasm and provocation that made them a counterculture act before Las Vegas claimed them. Teller performs in complete silence. The combination is 50 years in the making and it still doesn't feel like a product that's coasting. They host Penn & Teller: Fool Us on The CW, where magicians from around the world attempt to baffle them — the best of those acts sometimes end up on stage in Las Vegas. The show contains some strong language.
