What is the show?

What is Wastin' Away?

Wastin’ Away is a poolside Jimmy Buffett tribute at Alexis Park Resort built around the laid-back sound and party atmosphere associated with Buffett’s music. Songs such as “Margaritaville,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Fins” and “Come Monday” anchor the set.

The poolside setting is part of the concept, giving the show an intentionally casual, open-air feel. It is aimed squarely at Parrotheads and anyone who wants a casual, sing-along-friendly night built around the Buffett catalogue.

The 30-second answer

Is Wastin' Away worth seeing?

Yes if the Jimmy Buffett songbook and a laid-back poolside setting sound like the night you want; this is aimed squarely at the Parrothead lane.

The poolside setting is the difference. Familiar Jimmy Buffett songs land in a casual environment that fits the Parrothead mood naturally.

Kris’s take

Wastin’ Away makes the most of the Buffett catalog by pairing it with a poolside setting. If the relaxed Parrothead mood is what you want, the setting is a big part of the appeal.
